Facebook access token are mainly use for development by developers whilst integrating the use of Facebook features on their website either for login purpose, analytics or purchase reason. Step By Step Guide On How To Get Facebook Access Token Code

To get an access token for the Facebook Graph API, you need to create a Facebook App and then generate a user or page access token. Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to do this:

  1. 1: First thing first, you will need to go to the Facebook Developers website via (https://developers.facebook.com/) and log in with your Facebook account.
  2. 2: Click on the “My Apps” button in the top right corner and select “Create App”.
  3. 3: Select “For Everything Else” as the purpose of your app and click “Create App ID”.
  4. 4: Fill in the required information for your app, such as the name and email, and click “Create App ID”.
  5. 5: Then go to the “Dashboard” of your app and select “Add a Product”.
  6. 6: Select “Facebook Login” and then “Set Up”
  7. 7: Go to “Settings” > “Basic” in the left sidebar and scroll down to the “App Review” section.
  8. 8: Add “publish_pages” and “manage_pages” to the permissions you want to request and then submit them for review.
  9. 9: Go to “Graph API Explorer” in the left sidebar and select your app from the top right corner.
  10. 10: Select “Get User Access Token” from the drop-down menu.
  11. 11: Select “publish_pages” and “manage_pages” from the list of permissions and click “Generate Access Token”.
  12. You should now be able to see your or have a user access token that you can use to authenticate API calls. Keep in mind that user access tokens have a short lifespan, so you will need to periodically refresh them.

    If you want to post to a page instead of a user profile, you need to use a page access token. To generate one, you can use the User Token you got in step 11, and then use “Debug” button to get a page token.

    Use this token to authenticate API calls to share posts on Facebook pages.
